Open Ceiling Space

This is an open ceiling space of Fukuya Department Store just in front of JR Hiroshima Station. This luxury space caught my eyes, especially the escalator lights and the clock.

Flower Offerings

This is Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Every day many people visit here from all over the world  to pray for the world peace.

Itsukushima Shrine

These are pictures of the Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima. The first huge structure used to work as a gate to the Shrine by boat. The vermilion colored architecture consists of a main shrine, a Noh drama stage, music rooms and several other shrines arranged around it. All these structures are connected by corridors with the total length of about 300 meters.

Bamboo Forest

Took this picture in Arashiyama which is located in the western part of Kyoto city and famous for its bamboo forest. Walking through a bamboo tunnel is always refreshing.

Iris flowers are at the peak. I enjoyed walking around this small lake rich in various colors of iris in the Heian Shrine Garden, Kyoto.

This is a seasonal view of Kyoto. You see wooden floors standing in the river.
It is a terrace to enjoy dinner in the cool breezes of the evening. Their wooden floors, connected with restaurants, are built over the Kamo River in summer (from May 1 to September 30). The custom goes back to the Edo period (1603-1867).

Chrysanthemum Tile

This is part of the corridor of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. You see a lot of chrysanthemums, which is the family crest of the Imperial Family of Japan.

Clinging Beauty

Marvellous roses are in full bloom here in the Nunobiki Herb Garden in Kobe. In other areas we can see and smell good scents of lavenders and many herbs.

Hydrangeas

The rainy season started a week ago around Osaka, but we've had no rain for a couple of days. Hydrangeas are beautiful now, but in the rain they look more gorgeous.
