Autumn Finding

Today I drove out to feel  autumn.  This time of the year I go to Nose Town, northern rural area of Osaka Prefecture, to gather chestnuts. I don't know why, but to me chestnuts are so fascinating!

Now there are a bowl of chestnuts in the kitchen. The problem is.... Cooking them is very challenging. I usually boil them because it's easy.

Thursday Challenge...Park

The Expo Park in Osaka is the place where I often visit to find something to show off 'season'. These photos were taken today. I could feel autumn approaching in a quick pace.

On a rainy day in Kyoto

I found this water basin in front of the posh Japanese restaurant in Kyoto. Some ruby flowers caught my eyes.

This is another picture I want to show you today. This terrace is standing on the Kamo River so as to enjoy the river breeze. I bet it's nice to sit here on a fine day, but today as you see we had persistent rain all day in Kyoto.  So I enjoyed seeing raining cats and dogs from inside the house here.

Lucky Frog

This week's theme of Thursday Challenge is 'attractive'.

I found this attractive frog in front of the shopping mall in Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture in August 2012.

This statue is named 'Lucky Frog',  which was created by Hung Yi in 2010.

I was walking and walking around this colorful figure for a while.

Golden Rice

 

 

These were taken near the tennis coart  where I play tennis every Friday with my friends.

These yellow/golden crops are rice. Soon they will be harvested. Tasty for sure!

Thursday Challenge...Wonderful

Wonderful autumn leaves!

This week's title of Thursday Challenge is 'Wonderful'. I chose this picture taken at Jakkoin Temple in Ohara, Kyoto in November 2010.
Here in Osaka the season is going from summer to autumn step by step. At night I started to hear the sound of insects, with which Japanese feel autumn.

Ruby Tower

 

 I took this picture at the foot of the Port Tower. It is standing on the waterfront. From the top observatory we can enjoy a superb panorama of Kobe city.

Coolish Gentian

I found gentian blooming in the temple garden in Kyoto.  The light violet color and its shape make this flower coolish and a little lonely. It's my own impression of this flower. Also it shows the season is going forward.
