Present from Rotterdam

I found these girls playing marbling in the Meriken Park in Kobe. They look so adorable. In my childhood, I often played Japanese-style marbling with my friends. Sweet memories.
The sign says these were presented by the port of Rotterdam. Thank you for sending happy ladies.

Changan Gate

This was also taken in Kobe China Town. Here red color looks more dominant than yellow. This is the eastern gate called Changan Gate. On the left you see a panda on the two vending machines.

Yellow Lanterns

Was taken in China Town in Kobe. Within  a space of 200 meters by 100 meters, more than 100 Chinese restaurants and food shops are open. This place is always lively and a bit noisy.

Kobe View

This was taken from the gondola of the Nunobiki Ropeway in Kobe city yesterday. It's very close to the Shin-Kobe station for the Bullet train.
In the first picture, you can see a huge shadow of the clouds. Thanks to the modern technology, just ten minutes ride gives us a nice view like this.
I dedicate this post to Shadow Shot Sunday and Scenic Sunday.

Floral Friday Fotos

By the window I place a pot of cyclamen. Its red color makes me feel bright every morning. Water, sunlight and love grow flowers. It's my routine to open the curtain to see this flower pot. To be honest, this flower is a big part of my life now.
Come and enjoy Floral Friday Fotos.

Yebisu on the fence

This happy- looking statue is sitting on the corner of the fence. I found it while walking around the countryside in Nara. This man is called Ebisu or Yebisu who is regarded as a guardian deity of fishermen and luck. He is always depicted to bring a fishing pole in a right hand and hold a sea bream in a left hand.
Yebisu is a popular beer brand of Sapporo Beer in Japan, whose can has a picture of this man.

Winter Peony

Today I went to Sekkoji Temple and Taima Temple in Nara to see winter peonies protected by straw umbrellas. They are all about 40 to 50 cm tall. Their flowers are really enticing.

Museum Window

Looking into the window to see the ethnic displays at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, I found a nice reflection of bare trees and clouds.

I dedicate this post to Weekend Reflections and Floral Friday Fotos.

Have a nice weekend! Tomorrow I plan to see winter peony in Nara with my friends.

Winter Garden

At the Japanese Garden in Expo Park in Osaka. It is like my own garden, because very few people visit in this time of the year! I love the purity of this time.
I dedicate this to Water World Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday.

Rose Cafe

Had a relaxing time in Rose Cafe, just next to the rose garden. Most flowers are gone, but I found a tough one. I was happy to see this bright color against the gray sky.
I post this to Ruby Tuesday 2 and Our World Tuesday.

Happy New Year!

I wish all of you a happy new year!!

Today my sisters' families and my daughter's family came to my house to have a new year party. I prepared some traditional Japanese dishes for the New Year Day. We all had a fun time together in talking, laughing and singing. Next year, we'll have a new baby member to our family. Feel like I made a good start for the year.
