Nakanoshima Walk

This morning I had a short walk along the river. As you see, the sky was so beautiful and it was very, very hot. Today's high temperature was 36 degrees. This place is called Nakanoshima, which is the business center of Osaka. I love Yodoyabashi Bridge with three lanterns on each end.

My favorite bridge is over there. Nishiki Bridge. Does that look nice?

Hollyhock flowers are in their prime time.

One more thing to add, I'm excited now. From tomorrow I'll start a four-day trip to Mt. Tateyama. I'm going to go hiking in the mountain and take a lot of pictures of nature. Later I'll post about the tour.

Lotus Flowers

This is my second post of lotus flower. I can not stop posting such beautiful flowers.
These lotus flowers are blooming beautifully in the small pots placed in the precincts of less well-known temple in Kyoto.

Thursday Challenge... Symmetry

This week's challenge is "Symmetry".  The carving of peacock.

This is the entrance carving of Daimaru Department Shinsaibashi in Osaka. I happened to find this facade while out for a walk. Later I realized that this department building is one of the masterpieces designed by William Merrell Vories in 1933. I'd like to explore this building to see more details in near future. Please click the picture to enlarge so as to see more clearly.

River Time

Mino Waterfall in Osaka Prefecture Part II
In walking along the river, I can feel much cooler air than around my house.
People enjoy being in the river or by the river or above the river.

I dedicate this post to Water World Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday.

Flower Umbrella Procession

Flower Umbrella Procession was held today July 24, which is a part of Gion Festival of Kyoto. Around 850 people including young children and beautiful ladies participated this procession.
Among them, I was perfectly fascinated with the beauty of  Geiko and Maiko.

Young children carried the portable shrine wearing the same happi coats and tenugui headbands.

I had a wonderful time to see Japanese beauties filled with red color.

From the veranda

I was at the veranda of the February Hall in Nara standing over a cliff. You see the large roof of the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple, the world-largest wooden hall (50m × 57m × 50m).

Agapanthus

I found abundant agapanthus at the central island in Hakata, Fukuoka. Recently I see more agapanthsu than before. They are in full bloom everywhere and offer a cool impression on hot summer days.

Thursday Challenge..."Supreme"

Today's theme is "Supreme". I chose this picture as perhaps the most shiny architecture.
Kinkakuji Temple or Golden Pavilion in Kyoto.
You enjoy more "Supremes" in Thursday Challenge.

Mino Waterfall

Today I enjoyed walking along the Mino River to see the Mino Waterfall. It is part of Meiji Forest Mino Quasi-national Park. From the Mino station it takes about one hour to the waterfall. The fall is 33m in height. Today it was very sunny and hot, but I enjoyed  the cool breeze in the shade of a forest.

I dedicate this post to Water World Wednesday and Outdoor Wednesday.

Maiden in red

I took this picture in the corridor of Kasuga Grand Shrine in Nara. The young lady is a Shinto maiden who was in a hurry to the office. She was in red hakama,  traditional Japanese trousers.

Mellow Yellow Moday

This black and yellow shoes are amphibian. My husband bought this pair the other day and he likes it. But to me they look like duck's feet.

This is part of Mellow Yellow Monday.
Have a good start of the new week!

Shadow Shot Sunday

This cozy restaurant is located in the maple forest. Now it looks great, but in the late autumn, red maples leaves cover this place. I'll be back a few months later to confirm it.

Another Hydrangea

This hydrangea is new to me. Different kind of flower and leaf. It caught my eyes when I walked in front of the Ikoma station in Nara.

Life has its ups and downs. Yesterday I posted the first anniversary in delight. But a few hours later, I was quite at a loss.
Because I got involved in the computer trouble. Someone sent an invitation email to my friends using my name (my account). My account was shut down automatically. So I had to solve the problem, sitting in front of the computer for a long time. Luckily I changed my password and recovered my account. But still  I don't know well about what happened to me. I rediscover to take more attention to surf the Internet. There exists various black holes in the net world.
Anyway my first anniversary became unforgettable.

This is my second entry to Floral Friday Fotos and first entry to Weekend Flowers.

Sweet Hydrangea

Japanese cuisine emphasizes "season".  And appearance is a very important element as well as taste.
Let's take a break with a piece of "Hydrangea" and a cup of green tea. A clear jelly represents a raindrop. Taste?  Of course, very, very yummy!
