Zen Meditation Room and Dry Garden

This is a Japanese room for Zen meditaion in Kenninji Temple, Kyoto. Both the cusions  and  fresh leaves are beautiful green. And I love the black-and-white painting on the sliding doors.

This temple also has a wonderful dry garden. I think these white gravels look really sophisticated.

Powerful Yellow

This flower has a strong impression to me. That's why I took this picture. I don't know its name. Anyway powerful yellow. Don't you think so?

Have a good start to the new week!

In the Zoo

These pictures were taken in the Tennoji Zoo in Osaka. Rintaro was watching a hippo carefully. Even today I love to visit a zoo to watch the behaviors of animals, especially orangutans. Zoo is a wonderful place to go!

Water Lily

I feel summer is approaching rapidly. Today's high temperature was 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) in Osaka. In the shade I felt a light breeze, but walking in the sun was a bit tough.

Excited

Three days ago I posted about the unique ad of the upcoming motocross competition , Red Bull X-Fighters Osaka 2013 held in the Osaka Castle Park. And yesterday I was lucky to see the ongoing site from the top observatory of the Osaka Castle. The preparation work looked really huge-scale. If possible, I will go to watch this event on the real site, but it looks difficult to get the ticket, so I'm sure on TV!

I had a fun day with my daughter and two grandkids ( two-year-old boy Rintaro and one-month baby girl Koharu) in the Expo Park.

In the Pond

This is one of my favorite places. You see the two-story architecture standing in the pond. It is Taiheikaku located behind the main hall of the Heian Shrine in Kyoto. It works as a bridge and observatory. You can sit on the bench to feel the fresh air and see a nice view. Today I enjoyed red maple leaves here.

Floral Friday Fotos

Now I feel healed with these small flowers on my desk. But I don't know their name.
Please teach me if you know it.
Anyway, I believe flowers have great power.

Maple Leaves

You see a wooden-roofed door and a Japanese teahouse in the trees. Mostly they are maple trees. Generally maple leaves change colors in autumn, but some kind in spring. You see brown leaves on the right. This picture was taken in the Expo Park two weeks ago.
I dedicate this post to Thursday Challenge. This week's theme is "tree."

Red-and-white Carp

Look at this carp's eyes. Red eye-lined! And I like these sunlight stars.

Striking Contrast

This flower is bletilla or Chinese ground orchid. They are bunched together in many gardens in Osaka now. The color contrast of the flower and the leaves is very striking.

Cruise Ship

Was taken in the Kobe Meriken Park three days ago. A luxury liner "Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas" was berthed at a pier in Kobe harbor. A lot of passengers enjoyed a short stay there and I made a half-day tour of Kobe for a big family of 12 persons from Philippines, although I was already not in a good condition. They are very nice people and we had a good time together.
But since I came back home, I was down and out and have stayed in bed for two days. Probably I need more time to recover. Now I feel almost OK and gain energy to be back to the blog world.
