Clinging Beauty
Marvellous roses are in full bloom here in the Nunobiki Herb Garden in Kobe. In other areas we can see and smell good scents of lavenders and many herbs.

Winter Peony
Today I went to Sekkoji Temple and Taima Temple in Nara to see winter peonies protected by straw umbrellas. They are all about 40 to 50 cm tall. Their flowers are really enticing.

Aqua Metropolis Osaka Festival II
Today I took pictures of the Aqua Metropolis Osaka Festival second time. These pairs are doing yoga on the grass.
This is the face of the big Japanese doll, which I posted last Saturday. She looks cute, doesn't she?

Nakanoshima Walk
This morning I had a short walk along the river. As you see, the sky was so beautiful and it was very, very hot. Today's high temperature was 36 degrees. This place is called Nakanoshima, which is the business center of Osaka. I love Yodoyabashi Bridge with three lanterns on each end.
My favorite bridge is over there. Nishiki Bridge. Does that look nice?
Hollyhock flowers are in their prime time.
One more thing to add, I'm excited now. From tomorrow I'll start a four-day trip to Mt. Tateyama. I'm going to go hiking in the mountain and take a lot of pictures of nature. Later I'll post about the tour.

Lotus Collection
Today I learned a small but interesting information about lotus flower. That is...
Lotus flowers bloom for five days. They open early in the morning and close at sunset. On the fourth evening, they have no power to close the petals, so they spend the night with the petals open. On the fifth day their petals fall one by one to the water. Probably the flower of the fourth picture will be slim tomorrow.
I heard the center honeycomb is pistil and it is surrounded by lots of thin stamen.
On the bank by the lotus pond the duck family were taking a rest.

Winter Camellia
I feel like I've almost been through the tunnel. I can see the light. I don't like to exaggerate my condition, but this cold was a tough one. I think I have lost a few days because I could only sleep in bed. I've rarely experienced such an experience before. But soon I'll feel fine, I hope, with the help of the French brandy. Yes, last night I tried it for the first time. It worked well. Thank you for your advice.
This is a pink camellia I took a few days ago before I was sick. The bright pink caught my eyes.
Have a happy weekend!
