These two pictures are Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. It is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Japan, which is regarded to enshrine the deities of agriculture and business. You can easily understand why this place is so popular. It is also famous for its 1,000 torii gates, as you can see in the second picture. Every time I walk through this red tunnel, I'm overwhelmed with these gates.

Soooo beautiful, beagleAnnie! The 1,000 gates are overwhelming in the photo, and they must be even more so in person!
ReplyDeletethat's a sight Annie, a very strong color and a peculiar construction ... Greetings from Geli
ReplyDeleteThe torii gates are just amazing - it makes me shiver just to see the picture.
ReplyDeletebeautiful colours, and awesome perspective!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting post. The tunnel is stunning. The front face on picture one is very crowded with details and as such not so inspiring as is the tunnel. But in all very remarkable.
ReplyDeleteI loved visiting this shrine when I was in Japan. One of my favorites for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing place! Great shots, Annie!
