Daigoji Temple

This is a main hall of Daigoji Temple in Kyoto. It has a huge precinct including a five-story pagoda, a magnificent Japanese garden and a museum. The original temple was constructed in 925, but it was burned down by fire and the present hall was completed in 1600. I love the shape of roof and tiles.
This temple is very famous for its abundant cherry blossoms. Now  the season is almost over, not so many people visit here.

  2. I heard there are quite many temples in Kyoto. I guess it would take months to see them all!

  3. Off season visits are often better, more time and space to enjoy without the crowds of people. - Margy

  4. Good day and a wonderful Wednesday ... Annie

I like this temple very well again, they radiate a little mystique for Europeans, and I feel like a fairy tale ...

    Greetings to you from Geli

  6. It's quite an amazing structure, Annie. It certainly deserves lots of visitors even when the cherry blossom season is over, I think! Lovely shots.
